Some folks think agents just list homes on the MLS and wait for an offer to come in. I aim to fully understand what my clients end goals are, so I can present them with the best solution.
As a realtor, my job is to help my clients accomplish what it is that they're trying to do.
For buyers entering the market- this tends to be straight forward. Buy the best house for their needs and budget, and negotiate the best price possible.
For sellers, and upsizers it's often more complex. It might be the possibility of getting into a better school zone, or selling the family home while minimizing disruption to the elderly occupants. Perhaps there are multiple goals - reduce commute time, while putting some money in the bank.
With sellers I try to fully understand all the parameters of their goals and needs, so I can do the research I required to advise them in the best way possible.
